## Who it’s for

## What you’ll be able to do

By the end, Claude Desktop is set up on your Mac or Windows computer. You know how to ask for a piece of work you can actually use, how to hand it the right documents, and how to turn a task you repeat into a prompt you reuse. And your best prompt is saved as a Project, ready the next time you need it.

## Lessons worth starting with

-   **Your first useful query.** That’s the video on this page. Most first questions are a test, and the session goes to waste. This lesson shows you how to ask for real work instead: say who it’s for, what shape it should take, and what to leave out. -   **Attaching files for context.** Pasting the wrong thing is a common reason an answer misses. This lesson shows you how to give Claude the part of a document it needs, not too much and not too little.
-   **One workflow you do every day.** Pick a task you repeat, like a reply you send again and again, and turn it into a prompt with one slot for what changes each time.
-   **Save what works as a Project.** The last lesson is hands-on. You build a Project that keeps your instructions and files in one place, so you, or someone on your team, can use it without rewriting the prompt.
