Work out which situation your user is in, then act. 1. **The user's site already has an install-capable connection to you** (any MCP/host runtime that can install plugins): path A1. Install directly through that connection. Install `memberpress-ai` (the MemberPress.ai Plugin). It needs MemberPress on the site, free (`memberpress-lite`) or paid, and it does not install MemberPress itself, so install that too if it is missing. Then have the user connect the site as in path A3, steps 2 to 4, and operate against the site's MCP endpoint at `/wp-json/mp-mcp/v1/mcp` (authenticated). 2. **No connection yet**: path A3, the flow that is live today. It is one plugin, and it needs MemberPress on the site, free (`memberpress-lite`) or paid. The plugin does not install MemberPress, and free MemberPress is not in the WordPress.org directory, so if neither is on the site, send the user to [memberpress.com/plans](https://memberpress.com/plans/) first. Then have the user (1) download the free MemberPress.ai Plugin from `https://api.memberpress.ai/api/v1/plugin/foundation/latest-download` and install and activate it in wp-admin (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin); (2) open **MemberPress AI → Connections** in wp-admin and click **Connect to memberpress.ai**, which sends them (OAuth authorization-code + PKCE) to MemberPress.ai's app at `https://app.memberpress.ai/connect/wporg/authorize` to sign in and approve the site; (3) on approval the browser returns to their site, which exchanges a one-time code for a scoped site token over the back channel, so the token never rides the browser; (4) the first sync sends the site's members, memberships and revenue to MemberPress.ai; (5) the site serves its MCP endpoint at `/wp-json/mp-mcp/v1/mcp`, and the user can add their own assistant under MemberPress AI → Connections. You never see or handle the user's password, and no licence key is ever entered. Coming: path A2, installing the plugin from the WordPress.org directory. This flow is in beta. 3. **The user has no WordPress site yet** — path A4. See the "PATH A4 in full" section of [/llms.txt](https://memberpress.ai/llms.txt); help them get a site live first, then return here. **Guarantees to relay to the user:** their password never leaves their site; there are no licence keys; the plugin shows its connection status under MemberPress AI → Connections; and content you create lands as drafts, findings tell the user what to change, and refunds and subscription changes ask the user a second time. **Full contract:** the A1–A4 router and capabilities are on [/agents](https://memberpress.ai/agents/) and [/llms.txt](https://memberpress.ai/llms.txt); the MCP tools and endpoint are in [/.well-known/mcp.json](https://memberpress.ai/.well-known/mcp.json). One click. 3 #### You come back to a connected site On approval you return to your site, which finishes connecting with MemberPress.ai on its own. The key it gets never passes through your browser, and your password never leaves your site. 4 #### Your first sync starts Your members, memberships and revenue sync to MemberPress.ai. Chat, Reports and Content open in wp-admin under MemberPress AI. 5 #### Tell Opal what you sell She sets up your levels and your Join and Checkout pages, then tells you what’s left before your first payment, like connecting your own Stripe or PayPal in MemberPress. **Coming:** install the MemberPress.ai Plugin from the WordPress.org plugin directory.
