# Managing billing: upgrade, card, receipts and cancelling

Everything about your plan happens on the **Billing** page in the MemberPress.ai app. For what each plan includes, see [Plans](https://memberpress.ai/help/plans-free-and-paid/). This page covers how to change yours.

## Open Billing

Click your name at the bottom left of the sidebar to open the account menu, then click **Billing**. The page is headed “Billing”, with the line “The plan you’re on, and how to change it.”

## Upgrade to Pro

On the Free plan, Billing shows an **Upgrade to Pro** button. The sidebar shows the same button to Free accounts, just above your name. Either one opens the upgrade page, which shows the Pro price.

The upgrade page has an optional **Promotion code** field. “An entered code replaces the automatic beta offer.” Under the button it says “Cancel anytime, served through the period you paid for.”

## After checkout

When you come back from checkout, the app shows “Confirming your upgrade…” while it waits for your payment to register, then “You’re on Pro” with a **Start using Pro** button.

If activation is slow, you’ll see “Payment received” with **Check again** and **Continue**. Your payment went through; **Check again** asks the app to look once more, and **Continue** takes you to the chat.

If you leave checkout before paying, the page says “Checkout canceled” and “No charge was made, and your plan has not changed.”

## Update your card or cancel

On Pro, Billing has a **Manage billing** button. It opens the Stripe billing portal, where you update your card, download invoice PDFs, or cancel. The app has no cancel button of its own, so the portal is the only place to cancel.

If your last payment fails, Billing says “Your last payment didn’t go through. Update your card below to keep Pro.” Click **Manage billing** and update the card there.

A Pro plan with no card subscription has no card to update or plan to cancel, so **Manage billing** isn’t shown.

## A free week of Pro

If you have a free week of Pro, Billing says “You’re on a free week of Pro,” shows the date it ends, and says you won’t be charged. The **Keep Pro** button there carries the price. A free week isn’t billed, so it produces no payments.

## Usage this period

**Usage this period** lists **Chat messages**, **Site analyses** and **Manual syncs**, each as used out of allowed, with the date the count resets. The allowances depend on your plan. See [Plans](https://memberpress.ai/help/plans-free-and-paid/).

## Payments and receipts

**Payments and receipts** lists your payments. Click **View receipt** on one to open it. Receipt links are hosted by Stripe and can expire. The billing portal always has the current copy, plus PDFs.

## Purchase requests from your AI assistant

When your AI assistant asks to buy credits or a month of Pro, click **Review requests** under “Purchase requests” on Billing to see the request and its price.

The page has two lists: **Waiting for approval** and **Earlier requests**. Each waiting request has an **Approve** button with its amount. Approving lets your assistant pay that exact amount, once, before the quote expires. If you don’t approve, nothing is charged and the request expires.

## Additional sites and credits
