# Opal

The MemberPress.ai assistant

## Who she is: the AI assistant for MemberPress

Opal is the AI assistant for MemberPress. You talk to her in MemberPress.ai, and as AI built for your WordPress membership site, she works from your own site’s numbers. Tell her what you want for your members in plain words, and she thinks it through with you and plans the work.

She’s named for the gemstone. An opal forms slowly and shows different colours as the light moves. Opal is built the same way: she works from your site’s own numbers and the goals you’ve set, so as your site changes, so does what she sees.

## How she works

She thinks, plans and talks with you. Her answers come from your own site’s numbers, so they fit your business instead of reading like generic advice, and when your site doesn’t have what an answer needs, she says so.

When there’s a job to do, she hands it to Pip, her crew. After setup, a change like a pricing tier or a membership rule previews as a dry run, and new content like a course structure arrives as a draft. You say it once, and she handles the rest.

## Where she’s going

Read the first Field Notes post, [Opal: where she’s been, where she is, where she’s going](https://memberpress.ai/blog/field-notes/field-notes-01-opal/), for the vision and an honest list of what’s real today.

Opal the character has her own site too, with her songs, her blog and the Pips: [meet Opal on opalmpai.com](https://opalmpai.com/meet-opal/).
