Share your public catalog with AI

The public catalog is a list of what you sell in public: memberships and courses, with prices and sign-up links. Any AI can read it without a password, so it can recommend you correctly. It only tells an AI what you offer. It doesn’t decide what an AI says about you.

Where to find it

In wp-admin, go to MemberPress AI > AI agents > Public catalog. Only users with the mpai_manage_mcp capability see this section, which in practice means administrators.

Turn it on

The catalog is off until you turn on Share your public catalog with AI. Nothing is shared before that.

Once it’s on, the screen shows the Catalog address with a Copy button. The address is your site’s REST URL followed by mp-mcp/v1/public-mcp, for example:

https://yoursite.com/wp-json/mp-mcp/v1/public-mcp

Sites with plain permalinks get a different form of the address. Copy it from the screen rather than typing it, since the screen always shows the right one for your site.

What it shares, and what it never shares

Shared:

  • Your public memberships and courses
  • Their prices
  • Their sign-up links

Never shared:

  • Members and their data
  • Payments and transactions
  • Admin settings

Leave one membership or course out

To keep a single offering out of the catalog, open that membership or course and clear Show in public AI catalog. The Public catalog screen links to your memberships list with Open memberships, so you can get there from the same place.

How it differs from the other AI agents settings

The AI agents screen has other settings that sound close to this one, and they do different jobs:

  • Crawlers and AI search controls what bots get from your pages.
  • Your assistants are the AI clients you connect. They act on your site with the access you give them. See Using MemberPress.ai from your own AI client.
  • Public catalog is the read-only list on this page. It acts on nothing and needs no connection.

FAQ

Does the catalog expose my members?

No. The catalog never shares members or their data, payments and transactions, or admin settings. It lists only the memberships and courses you sell in public, with their prices and sign-up links.

How do I hide a membership from it?

Open the membership or course and clear Show in public AI catalog. From the Public catalog screen, Open memberships takes you to the memberships list.
