Reviewing and publishing drafts in wp-admin
The Content tab in your WordPress dashboard is where you review what MemberPress AI wrote for your site, and where you publish it when you choose. Open MemberPress AI > Content. The page is headed “Content from MemberPress AI” and says: “Everything MemberPress AI wrote for this site. Visitors cannot see a draft until you publish it.”
When drafts are waiting, the tab label shows a count, for example “Content (3)”. When a draft lands, the bell shows “Draft ready”.
What it lists
The list holds courses, posts, pages and quizzes. The type filter offers All types, Courses, Posts and Pages; quizzes appear under Courses. The columns are Title, Type, Status and Actions.
Each row has one of four statuses:
- Writing: MemberPress AI is still drafting it.
- Ready to publish: the draft is on your site and waiting for you.
- Published: it is live.
- Did not finish: the writing stopped before the draft was done.
Actions on a row
While an item is still writing, its actions say “Available when ready”.
- A draft that is ready offers Preview, Edit and Publish.
- A published item offers View and Edit.
- A published course that still has draft lessons also offers Publish lessons.
Preview
Preview opens the draft in a new tab through a link made for that click. Only a draft has one. The link shows the draft to someone who is logged out, with a bar across the top. It stops working when you publish the draft, or after seven days. Clicking Preview again replaces the earlier link with a new one.
Publish
Publish publishes that item. You need WordPress permission to publish it; if you do not have it, the tab says “You do not have permission to publish this item.” Publishing a course does not publish its lessons. When a course is published but some lessons are still drafts, the tab says “The course is published, but some lessons are still drafts. Publish them from the course editor.” You can also use Publish lessons on the course’s row.
When a draft did not finish
A Did not finish row offers Try again, no charge. Clicking it says “Writing it again. No credits are charged for this.” If the restart does not go through, the tab says “Could not start it again. Try again in a moment.” For what drafting costs when it succeeds, see Credits.
Who the content is written as
MemberPress AI writes as the WordPress user chosen under MemberPress AI > Settings > Content writing. Until a user is chosen there, it cannot place content on your site.
The same drafts in the app
Pro members also see these drafts in the app under Generations. See Generations: your content history and queue. For courses, see Building courses.
FAQ
Can my members see a draft?
Not on your site. Visitors cannot see a draft until you publish it. The one exception is a preview link: anyone you give it to can open that draft without logging in, until you publish the draft or seven days pass. Clicking Preview again makes a new link and replaces the old one.
A draft says Did not finish. Do I pay again?
No. A Did not finish row offers Try again, no charge. Clicking it starts the writing again and shows "Writing it again. No credits are charged for this." See Credits for what drafting costs when it does succeed.
