Your sites: connections and switching between sites

Open the account menu in the web app and choose Connections. The menu shows your connected site count beside it when you have a site. If you use the app’s /sites address, it redirects to the same page at /connection.

Connections has three tabs: Connected Sites, Connect Another Site, and Mobile.

See and sync your connected sites

In Connected Sites, each row shows the site name and address, when it connected, and when it last synced. A site with no completed sync says Never synced.

After a sync, What we understand about your business opens the business summary MemberPress.ai has built from your site.

Use Sync everything now on the row to request an on-demand sync. For what a sync covers, how often it runs, and on-demand limits, read Syncing.

For a failing connection, Reconnect appears when a fresh key can repair it. Reconnecting a site that is still connected to your account keeps its history and has no reconnect charge.

Disconnect removes the site and some of what MemberPress.ai learned about it, and a paid slot is not credited back. See Connection troubleshooting for reconnect steps, what disconnecting removes, and the billing details.

Open a site’s panel

Click Manage on a site row to open its panel. These sections explain the site’s identity, sync health, and WordPress user:

  • Identity has Name, with Edit to rename it, and Site URL. Way in is a link to the site’s WordPress admin. When the app has derived that address, it warns that the link won’t work if your site uses a custom admin URL.
  • Connection health has Status, Sync now, Last synced, and Cadence. Use Sync now to request a sync for this site; Cadence shows its current schedule.
  • Who we act as reports the WordPress user MemberPress.ai acts as or writes content as. If the author is missing, hasn’t been chosen, or couldn’t be checked, the panel explains that instead of naming a user.

Add another site

Your first site is included on every plan. On Free, trying to add a second site shows A second site needs Pro.

On Pro, adding a site asks you to confirm the extra monthly charge for that site, charged pro rata for the rest of the billing period. If you already pay for a spare site slot, it uses that slot with no new charge. The additional-site charge is explained in Connection troubleshooting.

The Connect Another Site tab has two methods. Both use the MemberPress AI plugin on the site you want to connect.

From WordPress

From WordPress is the recommended method. Use Get the plugin if you need to install it. In your WordPress admin, open MemberPress AI > Settings > Connection, then click Connect to memberpress.ai. Approve the connection in the web app.

With a key

Use With a key if the Connect button can’t reach your site, such as a staging site behind a password.

  1. Type the site’s URL in Site address and click Get a key.
  2. Click Copy key. The key works once, for 15 minutes.
  3. In your WordPress admin, open MemberPress AI > Settings > Connection, then Connect with a key instead.
  4. On Connect with a key, paste it under Paste the key and click Connect. The web app updates when your site uses the key.

For installation and approval steps, read Connecting your site.

Switch which site you’re looking at

The site picker is in the sidebar and in the chat box. Open it to see your sites or choose Connect another site. Picking a site changes the site Dashboard, Insights, and chat are looking at.

On Pro accounts with at least two sites, the picker also has All sites. Choose it to ask portfolio questions in chat across your connected sites. Dashboard metrics need a single site selected. Insights shows One site at a time in All sites; pick one site to read its insight.

Pair your phone

In the Mobile tab, click Pair a device to pair your phone. Follow Pocket: MemberPress.ai on your phone for installation and pairing steps.
