The MemberPress AI plugin in wp-admin
The plugin is called MemberPress AI. It needs WordPress 6.5 or later, PHP 8.0 or later, and an active MemberPress installation, free or paid.
Where to find it
The plugin adds one MemberPress AI entry to the wp-admin sidebar. Its six tabs, in order, are Chat, Reports, Content, AI agents, Credits and Settings. Each tab also has a submenu row under that sidebar entry. Credits appears only when the site is connected to a MemberPress.ai account, because credits belong to the account.
Before you connect
An unconnected site opens on Settings by default. Chat and Reports need a connection before they show anything. Open MemberPress AI > Settings > Connection to connect your account; the connection guide walks through the steps.
The MCP server and WordPress Abilities tools work on your site’s data without an account and at no cost. Native WordPress Abilities support needs WordPress 6.9 or later. See Using your own AI client for MCP setup. Chat, Reports and forwarding WordPress data-erasure requests to MemberPress.ai need a connected account.
The six tabs
Chat
Ask about your site’s numbers or ask for a draft. Drafts appear in Generations when ready and on the Content tab for this site. See Asking the assistant.
Reports
Reports shows your membership numbers compared with the last sync, Revenue by platform, Connected platforms with Billing, Community and Attribution roles, and Your badges. The achievements guide explains the badges. While the first sync runs, Reports says it is in progress and that the numbers appear after it finishes. If the first sync stalls or fails, or syncs fall behind, Reports points you to MemberPress AI > Settings > Connection.
Content
Content lists everything MemberPress AI wrote for this site. The content arrives as drafts; visitors cannot see a draft until you publish it.
AI agents
AI agents lets you control what AI from outside can do on your site, including
assistants you connect and AI bots that visit your pages. Its sections are
Overview, Your assistants, Crawlers and AI search, Public catalog, Agent payments
and Activity log. Your assistants and Activity log appear only for users who
can manage assistants.
Public catalog needs the mpai_manage_mcp permission.
Credits
Credits shows the balance your MemberPress.ai account holds, shared by all your connected sites. It shows monthly credits and purchased credits separately. The Buy more credits section opens checkout on memberpress.ai. See Credits for costs and purchase requirements.
Settings
Settings has three sections: Connection, Content writing, and Members and privacy. Open MemberPress AI > Settings > Connection to manage the site’s account connection.
The notifications bell
The bell in the page header opens Notifications, which is not a tab. It lists what MemberPress AI did on this site and what needs you. Its filters are All, Needs you, Content and Account. When there are unread entries, a Mark all as read button marks them read.
Typical entries tell you an assistant has connected, credits are running low, a draft is ready or a sync has finished. The labels include “Credits are running low”, “Draft ready:” followed by the draft’s title, and “Sync finished”.
The Dashboard widget
The wp-admin Dashboard has a MemberPress AI widget. It shows “Connected to MemberPress AI” and how long ago the site connected when that time is available. An unconnected site shows “This site is not connected to MemberPress AI.” The Manage connection link opens the connection settings.
If the plugin is installed twice
If an older MemberPress AI Foundation copy is still installed alongside MemberPress AI, the plugin shows “MemberPress AI is installed twice.” Deactivate and delete the copy you no longer want, then reload the page.
FAQ

Not for the MCP server and Abilities tools. Chat and Reports need one. See Before you connect on this page.
Why is there no Credits tab?
It appears once the site is connected to a MemberPress.ai account. See Credits on this page.
